The latest issue of Weekly Young Jump has revealed that Hiroya Oku, the creator of the popular mature manga Gantz, has designed one of the new characters in Nacmo’s upcoming next-gen fighting game, Soul Calibur IV. The fighter’s name is Shura and she is said to be a counterpart of some sort to Ivy.
Three more Soul Calbur characters from the games of past have returned once again to duke it out with the rest. We have the re-dead samurai Yoshimitsu. Talim, the teenage girl who is infatuated with the wind and who also wields twin elbow blades. And Rock - whose name suffices as a description.
I personally can’t wait to see Yoshimitsu fight Yoda seeing how they will probably be yelling the same annoying phrases over and over like fighters tend to do in most fighting games.
Namco Bandai has confirmed that the next and fourth installment in the Soul Calibur series is set to launch in North America on July 29th.
The standard and premium editions will both be made available. The latter includes a manga that serves as a prequel to the story in Soul Calibur IV, as well as a tournament kit and extra customization content.
The Premium Edition comes in a metal pagacking and retails for $79.99.
Gametrailers has got some exclusive footage of Soul Calibur IV. The game looks to be coming along rather nicely. Mitsurugi is as epic and as awesome as ever! Also, on a smaller note, it has those two guys from Star Wars or whatever. Real men use real swords.
