Texas-based Anascape Ltd. is about to get $21 million richer, as Nintendo has been ordered by a federal jury to pay the company for patent infringement.
The lawsuit was originally filed in 2006, and stated that Nintendo infringed on Anascape’s patent during the designing of the Wii Classic, GameCube and Wavebird controllers. The Nunchuck and Wii Remote were not mentioned in the suit, says Nintendo spokesman Charlie Scibetta.
Interestingly enough, Anascape also sued Microsoft for infringements before the Nintendo trial, but reached an agreement earlier this month.
ESRB has recently classified the fourteen year old Super Nintendo RPG EarthBound as a title for the Wii. This means the game coming to the Virtual Console. Eventually.
It would be nice if Nintendo brought the whole Mother trilogy to the Virtual Console, but that is extremely wishful thinking. On second thought, that’s borderline impossible.

According to MaxConsole, developer Datel plans to release Freeloader for the Nintendo Wii - a product that allows you to play imported games from anywhere in the world on your PAL, JAP and USA consoles.

From the makers of Project Hacker comes a new interesting RPG for the Nintendo DS, there’s very little information on this title at the moment, but apparently it involves restoring dinosaurs with tools such as hammers, drills and so on.
Pokemon Ranch is an upcoming title for WiiWare we heard about a long time ago, but haven’t heard from ever since. Now however, a few new details on the game has been revealed.
- The game has been renamed ‘Everyone’s Pokemon Ranch’
- You can transfer your pokemon from Diamond and Pearl and store up to 1000 of them on the Wii
- Pokemon can be sorted
- Interaction with your pokemon through activities is possible (such as sitting around a campfire)
- Take pictures with your pokemon and save them onto an SD card or post them on the Wii message board

Nintendo announced today that The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass has won an award for ‘Best Handheld Game of The Year’, at an annual Moscone Convention Center ceremony in San Francisco.
Since its release, Phantom Hourglass has sold over 3.82 million copies worldwide, with 910,000 of those being sold in Japan alone.
