SocioTown MMO Gameplay Video

Outside The Box Software has released a new gameplay video of their upcoming web-based Social MMO, SocioTown.

The video shows brief snippets of the various gameplay features of SocioTown such as player attributes, street boxing and missions.

Warhammer 40K MMOG Years Away

In a recent paidContent interview, THQ boss Brian Farrell revealed at Gamer’s Day in San Fransisco that the Warhammer 40K MMOG is “probably still a couple of years away.”

The game was announced last March, and should not be confused with the upcoming swords & sorcery MMORPG, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.

Sony: PS3 MMO Could Rival World Of Warcraft

John Smedle, president of Sony Online Entertainment recently stated that a PlayStation 3 MMO could potentially rival the success of MMORPG giant World of Warcraft.

“I absolutely do think we’ll see that, and in fact I think by having a stable platform where every customer has an online capable box is a huge, huge potential advantage in building an MMO because you’ve alrady got an online user base.”

SAGA MMO Goes Free

Silverlode Interactive today announced that they have released a free version of SAGA, a Massively Multiplayer Online RTS title.

The free version will allow players to access the game without purchase and without credit cards, and let them play in the same realms and servers as the paying SAGA users. Certain features have been locked, but otherwise it will offer pretty much the same.

IBM To Launch Educational MMO

What do you do to convince students that science and math are fun subjects?

You launch a new free-to-play MMO of course. Much like IBM is doing, their MMO is called PowerUp and will challenge players to solve problems involving wind, hydropower and solar, to prevent the destruction of the environments in fictional planets.
