Kojima’s Next Project: Zone Of The Enders?

Now that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots has finally been completed, Kojima is looking forward to creating new videogame series as well as continuing existing ones, such as Zone of the Enders.

The fast-paced mecha fighting series for the PlayStation 2 launched in Spring 2001, and was met with average reception at best. It is widely considered to be one of the PS2’s most underrated games, and has gained its own cult-fanbase across the world.

In an interview with PSM UK, Kojima stated that he “would like to say that Zone of the Enders is quite near the priority list… [after MGS4] it might be good to change to outer space or robots or things like that for a change”

We can only hope.

May 2nd, 2008 - Jak Cadden | No Comments »

Square Enix has been in a website launching mood lately. Sigma Harmonics is next on the list and, as usual, it’s not complete. So far we have a character page with some nice art work for each character and some battle system information. Two wallpapers are also available for download as well. And as usual, some lovely background music to play while you click around.

Square Enix is slowly running out of games that lack websites. Do you think we could would see any Final Fantasy XIII sites pop up any time soon?

Prince Of Persia Gets New Art Style

The first scans with images from the next installment of Prince of Persia surfaced the Web earlier this week, revealing a new art style for the series.

It seems Ubisoft is attempting to mix several different styles, with influences from Assassin’s Creed and a more serious take on cel-shading (Dragon Quest VIII, Rogue Galaxy).

Well it certainly looks intriguing, now we have to wait for some HQ screenshots to show up. Keep an eye on the official website for some new media.

Nanashi no Geemu Site Launches

Square Enix has launched the official website for it’s new DS horror title, Nanashi no Geemu. It is in Japanese, but if you want a glimpse of what the game has in store visuals and sounds go, you can poke around.

Pictures will pop up, eerie noises will sound off and some pretty cool synth music will start to play if you idle on the front page. One of the pages also has a little teaser trailer (fourth page from the left). It is in Flash, so we can’t embed it yet.

An interactive Flash demo for the game is on the third page. You can click the text at the bottom left and a DS will pop up with a stylus you control with your mouse. Click the touch screen and see what happens.

World Destruction Gets Anime And Manga

World Destruction will be getting an accompanying anime series and manga this summer to go along with the launch of the DS game, Anime News Network reports. The anime will be produced by animation powerhouse Production I.G., and the main characters will be voiced by some big names in the Japanese voice acting arena such as Maaya Sakamoto (Aeris from Advent Children) and Mamoru Miyano (Light from Death Note).

Taking into consideration the caliber of the talent behind both the game and the anime, I would expect World Destruction to be a top notch franchise.

With the game’s scenario written by Masato Kato (FFVII, Chrono Cross, Xenogears), and a score by famed composer Yasunori Mitsuda (Xenogears, Chrono Chross), I have high expectations for this game.
