The recently announced ‘next-gen’ Prince of Persia title has been confirmed for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS, but sadly not the Wii.
In a recent interview, developer Ubisoft says the game will never be ported to the Nintendo console. But that doesn’t mean Wii owners isn’t getting anything. Speaking to Edge magazine this week, Ubisoft explained:
“We ported Two Thrones to the Wii. It was a quick and dirty port, i can say. With that we saw a lot of potential. The controls were not fully optimised, did not take full advantage of the Wii, but a lot of people saw the POP universe could certainly have a home on Wii.”“

It was reported a few days ago that Pegatron Technology received some orders from Microsoft for an Xbox 360 SKU equipped with a Blu-ray drive. Gamepro reports that Microsoft sent them an email firmly denying it requested such an order.
“As we have stated, we have no plans to introduce a Blu-ray drive for Xbox 360,” said a Microsoft official in an email to GamePro on Monday. “Games are what drive consumers to purchase game consoles, and we remain focused on providing the largest library of blockbuster games available.”

If you are someone still not convinced the HD format war is over, this could (and should) very well be the final nail in the coffin. Time to move on now.

“By June Wal-Mart will only be carrying Blu-ray movies and hardware machines, and of course standard def movies, DVD players, and up convert players. Not sure of the short term pricing plans, but history tells us that as more people move to a new technology prices typically go down.”
- According to Check Out, an official Wal-Mart blog.
If this doesn’t convert you format war followers, I don’t know what will.
