Media Create Numbers - PSP Outsells DS

According to Media Create’s latest hardware numbers in Japan for the week ending February 24, Sony’s PlayStation Portable managed to move 53,373 units, while the Nintendo DS ‘only’ sold 50,151.

X-Blades Announced For Wii

Southpeak Interactive today annouced a new Wii title called X-Blades. The game lets you control an anime-inspired heroine who must fight her way through beautiful locations, using swords, blades, magic, guns and a “healthy dose of cinematic flair”.

“The unique anime-style backdrop combined with high-octane, multi-discipline combat gameplay really pushes X-Blades into brand new territory,” said Melanie Mroz, CEO of SouthPeak Games. “The 3rd-person ‘hack-em-up’ genre needs a fresh perspective and X-Blades is poised to deliver it.”

Gears Of War 2 Information

John DiMaggio, the man who voices Marcus Fenix in Gears of War 2, has revealed a few hints regarding the game’s content - such as new weapons, characters, a Brukam fight, enemies and more.

DiMaggio told IGN Australia that he’s busy doing GoW2 at the moment, reprising his role as Marcus Fenix and another character, Franklin.

On the Brumak subject, he said, “they fight him now”, and that there are “new weapons, new beasts” and “a couple of new characters”.

No Jap MGS4 Voice-Overs For Europe, America

In the latest podcast from Kojima Productions, producer Ryan Payton announced that Metal Gear Solid 4 will not have voice over tracks from other languages, so Americans and Europeans can’t choose, say, Japanese.

“Unfortunately because of disc space, we don’t have the space to include other languages, other voice over files for the respective versions. So the Japanese version’s not gonna have English VO, and the North American and European versions won’t have Japanese VO.”

He does however ensure that the voice over work in MGS4 is the best the series has ever seen.

The Metal Gear Solid Online Beta is starting on April 21st this year, and will last for two weeks. If you want to participate, you will have to pre-order the game at a major retailer like EB Games, GameStop etc. By doing so, you will also get a little bonus.

Sins Of A Solar Empire Sells 100,000

Stardock announced today that its PC real-time space strategy title Sins of a Solar Empire has sold more than 100,000 copies worldwide since its release 23 days ago.

Sins of a Solar Empire - which was developed by Ironclad Games, was the top selling PC game last week, performing better than both Call of Duty 4 and The Orange Box according to Gamasutra.

The Orange Box PS3 Patch In May

Website PSN@Home today contacted EA’s support division about a patch for the PlayStation 3 version of The Orange Box. He received a reply that could cheer up some of you PS3 owners.

“Our engineers have finally provided details regarding the issue you are experiencing. Currently, this is a known issue and our engineering team are creating a patch which should resolve the issue.”

“Unfortunately, the patch has yet to be tested and will be released sometime in March. Other issues will be addressed but unfortunately we do not have a list at this time.”

Hard To Be A God Details

Developer Nobilis has released new details on the upcoming PC RPG Hard To Be A God, set to release on April 11th.

The game features a non-linear storyline, presenting multiple story branches with four endings, depending on the behavior of the main character in-game. In addition to this, all weapons, armor, items and even wounds will be shown on the character models, thanks to the 3D engine.

Turbine and Codemasters will be making a major worldwide Lord of The Rings Online announcement at the upcoming Codemasters Online Connect Event in Birmingham, UK on March 15th to 14th.
